Learning & Study Skills Programs
Grades 1-12
Effective study and learning skills teaching helps to prepare students to study effectively, succeed as
learners, and show what they know and can do on state tests. When you teach students of any age how to learn,
how to listen, how to manage their time and energy, how to solve problems, and how to understand how test
questions work, they become more successful learners. The
Learning and Study Skills Programs provide a framework for infusing study and learning skills instruction
into your curriculum in every subject area.

Mission
More than ever before, schools today are highly focused on producing responsible citizens and competent
employees. To do this, educators want and need to teach students how to learn and how to process
and apply new information. Educators recognize that if students are to be ready for their roles as
adults in the new millennium, they need to be team players, active and creative problem solvers, and
effective communicators. This is the reason Rowman & Littlefield Education, in partnership with the
Study Skills
Group, is dedicated to publishing quality materials that aid educators in facilitating the learning process
of today's students.
The
Learning and Study Skills Programs has had twenty years of success with both teachers and students.
Rowman & Littlefield Education is committed to continually updating the materials to ensure that they provide the
highest level of assistance and guidance in learning and studying.
The
Learning & Study Skills Programs are designed to achieve these goals by addressing students,
educators and parents.
Components of the programs include:
- Student Workbooks
- Teacher Guides
- Parent's Guides to Study Skills
- Study Skills Inventories
- Workshop Leader's Handbook
- Workshop Kit

The
Learning and Study Skills Programs are the only program designed to aid students in all phases
of their pre-collegiate education. Due to the fact that the materials address how students learn,
the materials are all-encompassing, covering each discipline. However, the
Study Group and Rowman & Littlefield
Education understand that Math and Science are disciplines that challenge many students' learning abilities.
Realizing this, we also offer guidance specifically for math and science for students and teachers from
grades 6-10.
How Do We Teach Parents?
The Parent's Guide is available in English and in Spanish.
